GLENVILLE – Richard H. Holton, Sr., 76, passed away at his daughter's home in Glenville on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
Richard was born on September 6, 1937 in Schenectady and was the son of the late Arthur C. and Blanche (Van Bergan) Holton. He served in the US Navy from 1954 to 1958. He was a construction worker for many years in Florida and New York, formerly working for General Electric. He enjoyed motorcycles and loved spending time with his family. He was a lifetime member of the U.S.S. Intrepid, VFW Post #10539 and the N.R.A. and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He resided in Lake Okeechobee, Florida.
Richard is survived by his loving children, Vicki (Del) Adair, Sharon (Gene) Banks, Terri (Tammy) Holton, Richard (Sylvia) Holton Jr., Edward (Sue) Holton Sr. and Kathleen (Bill) Bohannon, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and cousin Fitz. He is also survived by a very close friend, Glen Wight and many other friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan M. Holton and his sister, Patricia Burnell.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. There will be no service.
