TROY-Richard H. Murphy went home to be with the Lord, 17 November 2014. He was 81 years old. Richard was born in Troy, NY to his parents, Kenneth H. Murphy and Marie Violet (Wolf) Murphy. Richard was a veteran, serving active duty in Korea.
Richard worked at the Watervliet Arsenal before working as a Custodian at School #2, where he worked for 30 years. After retirement he worked as a greeter at Walmart.
Richard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anne F. Murphy, his beloved children, Richard P. Murphy, Joseph V. Murphy (Lillian B.), Matthew D. Murphy (Katrina), Colleen M. Willsey, Beth Brundige (George), Genny Anderson (Moe), Karen Jones and Tammy Slingerland (Gary). He is also survived by his sisters Edna Jordan, Janet Zeller, Sandra Popson and Carol Jones and his brother George Murphy (Ruth). His brother Kenneth Murphy is with the Lord.
Richard was the Grandfather of 28, Great Grandfather of 32 and Great Great Grandfather of 1. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Services are private at the convenience of Richard's family.
