Richard Halvorsen

Richard Halverson, 84, of Delanson, passed away after a battle with esophageal cancer. He was born in Schenectady NY, he was the son of the late Mildren Halvorsen and Ulysses Massoth.

He and his wife of 59 years, Margaret raised their family in Schenectady county. He worked as an officer for the Capital Police and she was a homemaker. They enjoyed farming and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by Margaret on August 14th, 2022.

Richard is survived by their daughters Carol Thomas (Mike), Cathy Rickard (Tim), their grandchildren Jon Thomas, Tim Thomas (Amy), Eli Strong, and Isaac Strong as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Margaret is also survived by her sisters Beatrice Boyer, Dora Murphy, and Harriet Sharpe.

A Celebration of their lives will be held at their residence on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 at 2pm. Family and friends are welcome.
