Watervliet – Richard T. Hendee II, 39, passed away peacefully Tuesday March 18, 2008 at Samaritan Hospital.

Richard was born in Sidney, NY the son of Richard T. Hendee and the late Donna O'Shea. Richard worked at Siena College in Loudonville for twenty years. He loved working there and only left due to his health issues, at that time he had worked his way up to Head Cook. Richard was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, especially the Steelers of the seventies with Terry Bradshaw as QB.

Richard is survived by his beloved children Richard T. III and Joshua Hendee, his father and step-mother Richard T. and Karene Hendee, his step-father Ralph Shaw, his siblings; Nancy (Rob) Guzior, David Hendee, Penni (Dug) Sheldon and Karyn Hendee, niece and nephew; Cassie and Robbie Guzior, his aunts and uncles; Patti Sue (John) Stewart, Sandy (Chuck) Borden and Earl (Diane) Hendee and several cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, who died in 2006 and his uncle "Butch" Simmons.

Richard struggled with Diabetes most of his life, his family would like to thank the Rubin Dialysis Center, the Kidney Foundation and Samaritan Hospital for the care and concern shown to Richard and to them. The family would also like to thank the Siena College cafeteria staff for all of their support.
A memorial service will be held at Siena Colleges West Room (entrance on Spring Street Rd.) Saturaday at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or the Ruben Dialysis Center.
