Richard F. Hyserman passed away peacefully on February 24, 2022.
Richard was born on August 16, 1936 in Troy, NY to the late Helen and Frederick at Samaritan Hospital. Despite life long health issues, he was Valedictorian of his 1954 Maple Hill High School class and studied metallurgy at RPI.
His first love was flying and anything connected to flight. He piloted early in life and enjoyed a long work history with Mohawk, Allegheny and US Airways. He was known for his "only one right way" to rebuild an airplane or engine and he had his hand in many airplane projects over his 85 years.
In 1987, he called Allen and told him "I met the one I will love the rest of my life - sorry she only has daughters." For the last 35 years we have had a growing family of "yours, mine and ours."
Richard was a long time member of the Quiet Birdmen, Albany Hanger.
Richard is survived by his love Geraldine Moeller of Albany, his son Allen Hyserman of Dallas, Tx, his sister Carol Phelps of Schenectady, his feline "#1 son" Scooter, stepdaughters Joy Russell and Christa Moeller and many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and life-long friends.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the many healthcare providers Richard encountered including the staff at Albany Medical Center and Fresenius Dialysis.
Please consider donations in Richard's memory to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, West Albany Ambulance Services or The Lunch Program Fund at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Loudonville.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 3-6 pm at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 510 Albany Shaker Road - Loudonville, NY 12211.
