Richard John Joyce

Colonie- Richard J. Joyce, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Born in Albany he was the son of the late Richard and Marian Joyce. He is predeceased by his wife Wanda (Haydel) Joyce.

Richard enjoyed working for Truman's. He was also employed by the Village of Colonie and then went on to retire from the US Postal Service. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1963-1966 before being honorably discharged. Richard to loved watching golf, was an avid fan of the New York Giants and was crazy about Elvis. He also enjoyed horse racing.

He is survived by his daughter Brenda Sutherland (Joyce). He is also survived by his grandchildren who he loved dearly, Thomas Friss , Corinne Sutherland , and Connor Joyce

In addition to his parents, Richard is predeceased by his son Rich Joyce.

Calling hours will be Monday, April 29, 2024 from 4pm-6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie,NY 12205. Interment will be private.
