Albany- Richard G. LaChance Sr., 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Edward and Anna LaChance. Richard is predeceased by his wife, Marion LaChance.
Richard was employed as a steel worker with Albany Steel for many years before his retirement. He enjoyed taking his long walks and listening to opera music. Richard served in the United States Army during the Korean War before being honorably discharged.
Richard is survived by his children; Ellen LaChance Simmons (Gary) and Richard G. LaChance Jr. (Maria). He will be missed by his grandchildren; Joseph LaChance, Cheri LaChance, Michelle LaChance and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Sharon Delgiacco and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Richard is predeceased by his siblings; Ronald LaChance, Robert LaChance, Raymond LaChance, Rudy LaChance, Edward LaChance, John LaChance, Margaret VanBrocklen and James LaChance.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11am at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
