Selkirk – Richard R. Levesque, 57, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 1, 2014 with his wife and Pastor by his side.
Born in Albany, he is the son of Charles and Elaine Levesque. Raised and educated in the Capital Region, Rich retired from the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance as an IT Tech., after a dedicated 36 year career.
Richard's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Rich loved every moment he spent with his 8 year old son and enjoyed watching him grow. He especially loved watching his son play soccer and helping him practice. In addition to his family, his other passions included fly-fishing, traveling, scuba diving, flying, corvettes, and the New York Yankees. He was a certified scuba instructor and small plane pilot. He loved life and brought a smile everywhere he went. He was always willing to help those around him. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend that will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his beloved wife Michelle Levesque, son Matthew Levesque, parents Charles and Elaine Levesque, sister Tammy Smith, and brother-in-laws; Rick Smith and Dean Mastan. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at NYOH, St. Peter's Hospital 5th Floor, and the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's for their kindness, compassion, and care during his illness. A special thanks to Rev. Mueller for his spiritual guidance and support throughout his illness.
Funeral Services for Richard will be Friday February 7th at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Calling Hours will be Thursday February 6th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie.
