Richard G. Long, 89, of Altamont, passed away peacefully October 6, 2023 at home.
He was born in Albany in 1934 to the late Kenneth and Mildred Long.
Dick was an avid golfer, he played at many courses with his friends. He enjoyed boating and traveling in the RV with Anna. He loved to tinker with things, taking them apart and putting them back together. His extensive train collection dominated the basement. Dick worked for CDTA where he is in the Transportation Hall of Fame. He was also a proud member of the Masons.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son Richie Jr.
Dick is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Anna, daughter Kathy (Marc), as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 11am-1pm, with a service to follow at 1pm, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, Colonie, New York.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dick's name to the American Cancer Society.
