Richard J. Losee Sr., husband of Antonietta Losee, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024 at home in Selkirk, NY surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 25, 1942, in Hudson, NY, he was the son of the late Almer Losee and Marion Johnson.
Richard was a graduate of Ravena Coeymans Selkirk High School and attended Siena college. He spent his 50 year career as an auto and equipment mechanic, owning an auto repair station, working at Albany Public Markets and ultimately retiring from Sysco foods. Richard loved spending his retirement in Port Saint Lucie, Florida with his beloved wife. Richard’s unwavering passion was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A brilliant man that wore many hats, but most of all, a beloved father and papa.
He is survived by his wife Antonietta, his sons Richard Losee Jr. (MaryBeth), Robert Rarick and Peter Losee (Erin), his daughters Sharon Muth (Mike) and Antonietta “Peanut” Rarick along with his grandchildren Cassandra Villa, Robin Connell, Jordan Losee, Patrick Rarick, Michaela Muth, Jessica Losee, Kaitlyn Rarick, Marissa Muth, Daniel Connell, Arcangelo Losee and Joey Losee and great grandchildren Paxton Losee, Orion Losee, Madison Villa and Jackson Villa. He is also survived by his brother James Losee Sr. and sister Donna Abare.
He is predeceased by his brother Kenneth Losee Sr., Donald Losee Sr., sister Sharon Losee and nephews Michael Losee, Vito Catucci, Tony Losavio and Rocco Losavio.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, June 11 from 9:00-10:00am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church (35 Adams Pl, Delmar, NY 12054). A mass of catholic burial will be celebrated at 10:00am, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont, NY.
Flowers are welcomed as are donations to Ronald MacDonald House Charities of the Capital Region and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family would like to thank the nurses of community hospice.
