Richard K. Lowerhouse

February 20, 1955 — January 23, 2024

Albany- Richard K. Lowerhouse "Dick" of Albany, passed away on January 23, 2024 at St. Peter's Hospital after a massive cardiac event. Richard was born in Albany and was the son of the late Henry A. and Gladys M. Lowerhouse. He was also predeceased by his sister, Jane Lowerhouse.

Rick worked at Cohoes Hospital until its closing and resumed hospital work at Albany Memorial Hospital in 2001 as an OR Technician until he retired in 2022.

Richard is survived by his siblings, David Lowerhouse (Nancy) of Florida, Lynne Freebern (Scott) of Vermont, Gwen Fronk (Barry) of Glenville, NY and their daughter Tabitha Fronk of California. and Julie Lowerhouse of Indiana. Nieces, Kristen and Erin Lowerhouse, and Rebecca Thomas. Nephew, Gregory Clark. He is also survived by his aunt Phyllis Davies of Granville, NY and cousins Carol Knipes and JoEllen Kromer.

Richard's family would like to thank Mohawk Ambulance, Dr. Konstantakos and his entire OR team at St. Peter's Hospital for their effort and their excellent and compassionate care in Rick's last hours. Also, a thank you to Rick's entire Memorial Hospital family. You all meant the world to him. It was where he was the happiest. You will all miss his jokes! And thank you to Geoff Burke and Terry Ross for their friendship and support for Rick for so many years. Rick generously donated tissue hoping he could continue to help others.

Richard was interred at Memory Gardens in Colonie on February 2, 2024
