Richard C. Lucas Sr.

Saratoga- Richard C. Lucas Sr. "Red", 65, passed away at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Born in Knox, he was the son of the late Winfield and Evelyn Lucas. Red is survived by his wife of 20 plus years, Nancy Lucas and her daughters Amanda Covey (Frank) and Courtney.
Red was a proud United Marine Veteran. Red loved riding his motorcycle and was a member of two motorcycle clubs, Down Range and Abate. Above all, he loved spending time with his three granddaughters.
Red is also survived by his twin boys, Ronald (Beverely) and Richard Lucas Jr. He was the loving "Papa" to Joseph, Madison, Emily and Layla. He will also be missed by his siblings, Tammey Wright and Evelyn Freer-Varin (Norman) and several nieces and nephews.
Red is predeceased by his brother David Lucas (Debbie).

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 1pm at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871. A funeral procession will be leaving New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY 12205 at 12pm. If following in procession please arrive at the funeral home between 11:30am-11:45am.
