Richard A."Richie" Maikels, 67, of Niskayuna, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, November 2, 2018. Born in Albany on September 2, 1951, Richard was the son of the late Edward and Margaret (Ostrom) Maikels.
Rich was a truck driver for John R. Mott, Inc. and also worked in NYS food service until his back injury. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. Rich was a member of several area Rod and Gun Clubs, including West Albany Rod and Gun Club, where he spent much of his time.
Rich was predeceased by his parents and the love of his life, Karen Maikels. He is survived by two daughters; Marybeth and Stacey, three brothers; Edward Jr., Robert Sr., and Guy Sr.,, several grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call 4-7 p.m. Friday, November 9th at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.
