COLONIE – Richard A. Moscheo, 77, passed away at the home of his daughter on November 16, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Albany on July 16, 1945, a son of the late Angelo and Connie (Nastasi) Moscheo. He was educated in local schools and earned his Bachelors' Degree from Russell Sage College in Troy.
Richard was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. Following the military, he was a police officer and later a detective with the Albany Police Department where he served for twenty-five years.
He enjoyed skeet shooting, NASCAR and was a fan of the Yankees and the Bills. He enjoyed traveling and cruises, seeing much of the world. He was a founding member of the Italian American Club and was actively involved with the Capital City Rescue Mission.
He is survived by his daughters, Julie Moscheo (Tim) and Heather (Eric) Brown; his sister, Helene Moscheo and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a celebration of life to immediately follow at 7:00 pm on Monday November 28, 2022, at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral procession will be forming at the funeral home on Tuesday November 29, 2022 at 9:45 am for the interment to be held at 11:30 am at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
