Richard Carmen Nunziato, Sr.

LATHAM - Richard C. Nunziato, Sr., 72, passed away at his home on Monday, June 5, 2017, suddenly and unexpectedly. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Carmen and Genevieve (Kutryb) Nunziato.

Richie, as he was known by his family and friends, was passionate about his family, cooking and the outdoors especially his time boating. He loved all of his pets over the years but most recently Gussey and Tucker, who accompanied him on his final walk. A quiet man with a huge heart who is loved and will be missed by all.

Richie is the loving husband of his beloved wife of 40 years, Kathy Nunziato. He is the father of Richard Nunziato, Jr., Kimberly (Nick) Sanzo, Kathy (Bill) Banagan and Jeffrey Ryan Nunziato and proud grandfather of five grandchildren. He was the second oldest son of Carmen and Genevieve and has nine siblings, Rosemary (Thomas) Tatko, Joyce (Michael) Rhatigan, Jane (the late William) Grugan, Donald (Dolly) Nunziato, Michael (Jean) Nunziato, Christine (Keith) Lochner, Patricia (Michael) Colletti, the late Robert Nunziato and the late Janice SanFilippo. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Judy Nunziato, many nieces and nephews, and his constant buddies, Gussey and Tucker.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, with a service at 7:00 p.m.
