CLIFTON PARK- Richard M. Onderchain, 77, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017.
Dick was born on April 6, 1939, to the late Peter and Elsie Onderchain in Dearborn, MI. Dick was a graduate of Scotia High School in 1957. He served his country honorably in the United States Air National Guard. After his military service Dick opened a Dunkin' Donuts in Kingston, NY. In 1969 he moved to Latham, NY and opened another Dunkin' Donuts. In 1968 Dick married the love of his life, Madeline B. Onderchain. They were married for 48 years. Dick was a diehard Detroit Sports team fan, and a great lover of dogs, especially beagles. Dick will be remembered for his "Bob Newhart" sense of humor and his baby blue eyes. He will be greatly missed.
Dick is predeceased by his oldest brother, Peter Onderchain Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Madeline, his 4 brothers; Robert (Linda), Alan, Thomas, and William, his brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Mary) Kaplan, many nieces and nephews, his special "niece", Mindy Gelfand, and his two beagles, Copper and Zee.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, Colonie Chapel, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 9:00am-10:00am with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
