In addition to serving in the U.S. Army, Richard was very hard working and spent his career working in Albany, from his young beginnings with the family at Schaefer Brewery to his favorite position of all, the Director of Animal Control for the Town of Guilderland.
The essence of Richard was his devotion to family and friends, supporting them always, in any way he could. Richard will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor, his love of family, caring nature and compassionate heart. Rich could light up any room and always made people laugh. Richard had an amazing love for children and animals, and they were drawn to him. He was also very proud of his Irish heritage! And he will be, forever loved…forever missed.
