Richard P. Schwarz

COLONIE-Richard P. Schwarz, 91, passed away in his home on Saturday, March 10, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

Richard was born in Manhattan, NY, on July 8, 1926. After high school Richard enlisted in The United States Army Air Corps during WWII, where he served his country honorably. In 1948 Richard married the love of his life, Margaret. They were married for 44 years until her passing in 1992. Together they raised 10 children. In 1984 Richard retired as an executive from Sid Harvey's Incorporated with over 40 years of service. He spent his retirement with his two sons and grandson at J&M Schwarz Heating and Cooling where his experience and expertise were greatly appreciated. He will be remembered for his love of flying, and woodworking. His passion in life was his family.

Richard is predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret.

He is survived by his children, Kathy Raskin, Richard (Diane) Schwarz Jr., Mark (Jacquelyn) Schwarz, Joseph (Bill) Schwarz, Margaret (Gary) Gagnon, Patrice Lockart, Peter (Brenda) Schwarz, John (Kathy) Schwarz, Mary (Cleve) Eads, Stephen (Colleen) Schwarz, his grandchildren, Ariel, Michael, Melissa, Adam, Jessica, Tyler, Sara, and Brighton, and his great-grandchildren, Rowan, Rose, Ryan, Audrey, Mia, Jusuf, Joycelyn, JeanMarie, Erin, and Will, and a host of family and friends.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, Colonie, NY 12205, on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00am. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
