VOORHEESVILLE, NY – Richard Silberman, 58, of Voorheesville, passed away on Thursday, December 06, 2007 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Kingston, NY he is the son of Phyllis Silberman and the late Roger Silberman. He was a lifelong resident of the Capital District. Mr. Silberman was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Rich was currently working as a bus driver for the Voorheesville Central School District and as a dispatcher for the Menands Police Dept. He was the former owner of Richard's Car Care. Mr. Silberman was a member of the Blue Knights, Polish American Community Center, American Legion Joseph E. Zaloga Post #1520 and the Fraternal Order of Police. In addition to his mother Rich is the beloved husband of Linda L. Keech Silberman. He is the devoted and loving father of Robert James Silberman. He is the nephew of Coralie Kaplan and cousin of Lynda Kaplan, both of Kingston. Rich is the son-in-law of James and Theresa Keech of Albany. He is the brother-in-law of Norma J. (Michael) Decker of Colonie, James W. (Linda) Keech, Jr. of Loudonville and Stephan D. (Annette) Keech of Colonie. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and many friends. Rich's family would like to thank the entire staff of I.C.U. at St. Peter's Hospital for all of the care given to Rich.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 9:30 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Richard Silberman.
