Knox – Richard W. Slatcher, 68, passed away Friday January 25, 2008 at his home, after a long battle with ALS.
Richard was born in Schenectady, the son of the late Warren and Marjorie (Schilling) Slatcher. He was a lifelong area resident. Richard worked for Canteen Food & Vending in Schenectady for over 25 years, retiring in January of 1998. He was a Vending Machine Mechanic and a member of the Teamsters Local. Richard was an avid fisherman, who loved Paradox Lake and also enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his children; Kathleen Sherman (her companion Robert Delaney), Ruth Anne (Michael) Burby and Richard W. (Bonnie) Slatcher, Jr., his grandchildren; Kevin, Meaghan, Christopher, Matthew, Elise, Eric, Everett and Erin, his brother; James R. (Lynnette) Slatcher, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00am at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be Tuesday 4:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be Evergreen Memorial Park.
