GRAFTON – Richard F. Small, 76, of Grafton, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2005 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Monticello, ME, he was the son of the late Roland and Lola Howe Small. He was a Grafton resident for 39 years. Mr. Small was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Dick was a well known musician. He had his own radio show on W.G.N.A. called "Barn Dance," on Saturday evenings. Dick organized jamborees with his band, "Dick Small and the Peaceful Valley Boys", to raise money for amputees in need of prosthesis. Dick is the beloved husband of almost 40 years to Wanda M. Small. He is the devoted father of Roland Small, Richard Small and Lola Silva, all of Maine, David Young, Nelson Young, Phyllis Knowlton, Muriel Denue, Elaine Young, Linnie Small and Amy Spotten. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 10:00 to 2:00 at the Seventh Day Baptist Church in Berlin. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Berlin Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to his wife, Wanda Small, c/o Bank of America, 21 Elm Street, P.O. Box 249, Berlin, NY 12022.
