MECHANICVILLE- Richard J. Spence, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2017.
He was born on September 12, 1951 son of the late Homer and Frances Spence in Harrisburg, PA. Rich received his Master's degree from Union College.
Rich worked to service others and throughout his career, he has assisted numerous students in reaching their educational goals.
Rich was an active member of the Highway Tabernacle Church in Mechanicville.
He is survived by his Fiancée, Tina Mone; son, Thomas Spence; daughter, Sarah Spence- Staulters and her husband Lucas Spence-Staulters and granddaughter, Truedyn Spence-Staulters. He is also survived by his two brothers, Joe (Fran) Spence and Bill (Linda) Spence and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his son, Brian Spence.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross. Rich was an faithful donor and to honor of his commitment to helping save the lives of others, his family and friends encourage all who are able to go out and donate at their local American Red Cross.
A funeral service to celebrate Richard's life will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 12 Noon at Highway Tabernacle Church, 235 Hudson Ave, Mechanicville, NY 12118. Visitation will be held prior to services from 10am-12pm. Interment will follow at Hudson View Cemetery, Mechanicville.
