Wade, Richard A.
Albany – Richard A. Wade, 84, went home to be with his lord and savior Saturday June 12, 2010 while surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was born in Cohoes a son of the late Charles and Leona (Grenier) Wade, he grew up and was schooled on Green Island and was a lifelong area resident. He proudly served in the US Navy during WW II and was truly a part of what Tom Brokaw referred to as "Americas Greatest Generation". Richard worked as a printing pressman for Williams Press in Menands for many years and after their closing worked at Fleet Bank running their parking lot on State Street in Albany. He was a volunteer fireman with Center Brunswick, served as a Town Councilman for Brunswick and was a trustee and chief usher at Calvary Baptist Church. Richard was also a little league coach and Boy Scout leader.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years Ann Wade, sons: Tom Wade, Gary (Susan) Miller-Wade, Michael Wade and Scott Wade, step-sons: Seth Ogden and Chad Ogden, grandchildren: Melody, Ciara and Chelsea Wade, Noah, Isaac, Anna, Asa, Ian and Eilie Ogden, brother William Wade, sisters: Joan Forcucci, Marion Halek, Margorie Norris and Barbara Ryan and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday 11:00am at Calvary Baptist Church. Calling hours will be Tuesday 4:00 to 7:00pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wade Fund of Calvary Baptist Church, 12 Launfal St., Albany, NY 12205.
