Albany – Rita Pinto, 87, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010.
Rita was born in Cedarhurst, NY of nine children to the late Olaf and Christine (Hansen) Cleven. She and her husband Vernon, who predeceased her in 2006, were married 56 years, raised their family on Long Island, retired to Vero Beach, Fl in 1979 and then moved to Capital District five years ago to be closer to their family. Rita was an avid golfer, bridge player, and a devout Catholic.
She is survived by her children Lisa (Christine Gorman) Pinto and Andy (Diana) Pinto, grandchildren Michelle and Daniel Pinto, brothers John (Margaret) Cleven and Donald (Barbara) Cleven and many nieces and nephews, including Linda Benc, Russell Johnson and Eileen Lily. Rita was predeceased by her siblings: Arthur, Herb, Bertha (Oldring), Richard, Marie (Johnson) and Gloria (Kasten).
