Rita M. Ganther

Rotterdam- Rita M. Ganther, 76, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 at her residence after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Cangiano. She is also predeceased by her late husband John D. Ganther Sr.

Rita was a loving mother who was always smiling. She loved her children, grandchildren, and her pets especially her cats. She was very artistic and ran her own ceramic business with her husband for many years. Rita loved to travel and go out to dinner. She would always say yes, no matter where you asked her to go.

Rita is survived by her children, John (Gina), James (Dori), Joseph (Tami Parkis) and Julie Prest (Joe Jr.). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cristina (Jason), John David III, James Jr., Jeremy, Jakob and Jaxson and her brother Frank Cangiano (Nelly).

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2015 from 1:00pm-4:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 6, 2016 at 9:00am at the funeral home. Interment will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 12:00pm at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven, CT.
