Rita M. Tessier

Cohoes – Rita M. Tessier, 90, of Ogden Mills, passed away peacefully on Sunday. The daughter of the late Catherine and Henry Gepfert of Colonie, she was married to the late Lucien Tessier.
For ten years, she was a Girl Scout leader and neighborhood chairwoman. Rita was a hairdresser for over 30 years. In retirement, she volunteered at the VA Hospital. A Foster Grandparent for 15 years, she loved helping care for children. She sang with the Witness and other local groups.
Rita is survived by her daughters, Bernadette McGuire (Scott), Virginia Baker (Lamont), and Mary Lou Imler (James). She is the sister of Kay Martel. Rita is the cherished grandmother of Beverly SanGiorgi, Patricia Conley, Josh, Jessica and Elliot Imler and great grandmother of Meaghan and Erik. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay respects and celebrate Rita's life on Thursday from 4 to 6 pm at the United Church of Cohoes, 123 Mohawk St. Cohoes. A Prayer and Praise service will follow at 6:00 at the Church.
