Rita Meunier

MECHANICVILLE – Rita Meunier, 86, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2007. Born in Tupper Lake, NY she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Jenny Amell. Mrs. Meunier was a long time communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church. She enjoyed walking, cooking, NASCAR, playing bingo and cards and listening to talking books. She especially enjoyed helping others and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clarence A. Meunier, her daughter, Deborah Falcon, her son, Richard Meunier and her granddaughter, Angela P. Rogers. Rita is the beloved mother of Robert (Patricia) Meunier of Pattersonville, Remona (Andre) Desrosiers of Branford, FL, Barbara Rogers of Providence, Gary (Nancy) Meunier of Ballston Spa, Donna (Rapisarda) Meunier of Stillwater and Dora McLaughlin of Barstow, CA. She is the sister of Bernard (Marion) Amell and Warren Amell all of Schenectady. Also surviving are seventeen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, her niece, Betty Gifford and her cousin, Lois Amell.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 8:15 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to St. Paul the Apostle Church, Schenectady at 9:00 a.m. where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
