Rita Ann Thayer

NISKAYUNA – Rita Ann Thayer, 76, of Niskayuna passed away on September 2, 2024.

She was born in Portland, Maine on September 11, 1947 a daughter to Agnes (Szawiela) Roberts

Rita graduated from Mohonasen High School in 1965. Rita worked as a lab tech at Ritz Camera for many years.

Her love for photography filled her heart with so much joy. She loved taking pictures of nature and wildlife. If she wasn't out capturing photos, her second love was golf. She enjoyed playing and even succeeded at getting a hole in one. She cherished her family and looked forward to being with them, especially on holidays and she always kept in touch with many extended family members. She loved her animals, who are now all together sharing hugs and kisses.

She is survived by her sister, Janice Fresoni (Kenneth); her brother, Chris Roberts (Angela); her nieces, Melinda Sabatello (Christopher) and Kim Roper; her great nieces and nephew, Lindsey (Hunter), Michael and Emily.

Services will be private. There is no visitation.
