ALBANY – Robert A. Waters, Jr. 78, passed away on February 25, 2007 at his home after a heroic battle with cancer.
Born in Troy on January 18, 1929, he was the son of the late Robert A. and Edith (Watts) Waters. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member with the IBEW Local #236 (previously Local 166) for 38 years, until he retired in 1992. He preformed as a musician and singer in his early years in clubs and for many charitable organizations. Mr. Waters was a member of the Masonic Brotherhood at the Noah Lodge 0754 in Altamont.
Mr. Waters is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lois (Foster) Bowen Barstow Waters. He is also survived by five sons, William C. Waters, Robert J. Waters, Michael K. Reynolds, Thomas J. Bowen and Anthony J. Bowen; four daughters, Cheryl (Wheeler) Comtois Piccarello, Yvonne (Bowen) Porter Ryan, Lori (Barstow) Arnold and Susan Barstow; 14 grandchildren, Crystal A. Waters, Casey, Kerry, and Callan Porter, Alex J. Bowen, Tom Diamond, Mark Temp, Monica (Temp) Fort, Sean Temp, Robin (Comtois) Dandridge, Nicole and Morgan Cooper, Jacob and Daniel Arnold; eight great grandchildren, Faith, Brandon, and Tristan Diamond, Allison Temp, Mark Temp, Jr., Siera and Jennea Comtois, and Deshawn Dandridge, Jr.; a sister, Dorothy (Waters) Hoffman and a brother, Albert Waters.
