Robert J. Andi

Cohoes- Robert J. Andi Sr., 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 20, 2021 with his loving family by his side. He was the son of the late Anthony and Statia (Cazasta) Andi. Robert was the devoted husband to the love of his life, Helen M.(Maffeo) Andi. They were married 60 years.

After Graduating from CBA, Robert joined the United States Navy for two years where he was stationed in Napels, Italy at one point, during Lebanese crisis. Upon his honorable discharge, Robert received an associates degree from Hudson Valley Community College. Robert worked at the Times Union for 40 years, starting in Stereotype Department and retiring as a Marketing and Promotional Manager.

Robert was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany where he first met Helen during Elementary School Years.

Robert enjoyed spending time with his entire family. He was an avid golfer and outdoorsman where he spent many great days with his close buddies enjoying a cold Coors light.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his children, Helen (Timothy) Antoniak, Robert J. Andi, Jr., Anthony T. (Jean Marshall) Andi; grandchildren, Alyssa and Dylan Antoniak; brothers, Raymond Andi, James Andi, and Thomas Andi; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his brothers, John Andi and Timothy Andi; sister-in-law, Catherine Andi; nephew, Ryan Andi; and his dear friend, John Zanella.

Calling hours will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Albany, NY on Tuesday May 25, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm with a mass to immediately follow at 4:00 pm. Interment will be private.

The family would like to extend their heart felt thank you's to Doctor Paul Lemanski for his many years of compassion and care he provided for Robert and all the doctors and nurses at St. Peter's Rehabilitation center, ICU, and 5 Brady Farrell.
