Colonie - Ashley, Robert F. On July 19, 2022, Robert Ashley, 90 passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital. He was the loving husband of 65 years of Joan (Wrzochalski) Ashley and the son of the late Francis and Sadie Ashley of Cohoes, NY.
He was also predeceased by his sister Shirley Kirk of Chesterfield, VA.
Robert graduated from Cohoes High School. Following graduation he served proudly in the US Navy. After his service ended he held positions with IBM, NY Telephone and John Hancock Ins. Co., before spending 27 years at General Electric Co. in Schenectady, NY retiring in 1993. He enjoyed a number of hobbies including photography, golfing, archery, and flight simulators on his computer.
He is survived by his wife Joan, sons Stephen, David (Barbara), Greg, Chris (Michael-Anne), John and daughter Donna Munhall (Michael) and seven grandchildren Evan, Melissa, Sophie, Sarah, Bennett, Grace and William.
