Robert Belanger

Robert Belanger, 80, of Latham, passed away October 23, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born in Troy, New York on April 10, 1935 to the late Louis and Loretta Belanger.
Bob graduated from Cohoes High School where he played football and baseball. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for 20 years. After retirement, he became active in local unions, worked as a bartender and later in life he became a real estate agent. In his free time, Bob enjoyed the beach, swimming, horse racing, visiting casinos and was an avid New York Yankees fan. Most of all, Bob enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brother, Louis Belanger, his wife of 22 years Eileen Rogers Belanger and his long-time companion Sheila Charette.
He is survived by Daughter Donna Marie Miller (Chris), Son Robert Belanger, Jr. (Ann), Son John Belanger (Tamara) and Daughter Jennifer Dentinger (Aaron); grandchildren, Benjamin and Alanna Belanger, Lauren and Rachel Dentinger, Robert and Juliette Belanger, Jackie Chrysler, Brittany and Christopher Miller.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Ambrose Church in Latham. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, New York 12110 in Bob's name.
