NISKAYUNA - Robert "Bob" Connor, 90, of Westview Apartments Saratoga Springs passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Saratoga Hospital after a short illness.
Bob was born in Cambridge, MA the son of the late John and Anne Carney Connor. He moved to Albany in 1950 after marrying the love of his life, Sally Duncan. Bob managed Sally's family restaurant, Duncan's Inn, for the next 13 years. His next venture was as a successful salesman for Graves and Rodgers liquor distributors for over 30 years. Sally and Bob enjoyed 62 wonderful years of marriage until Sally's death in October of 2012. He will be remembered for his love of family, telling a good story, his Irish heritage and all things Boston. He had a unique ability to have an instant rapport with everyone he met.
Mr. Connor is survived by his caring children, Gary (Carol) Connor of Niskayuna, Kevin Connor of Ballston Lake, Linda (Bob) Fuller of Saratoga Springs, and Amy (Don) Beck of Lynchburg, VA; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren; his beloved sisters, Mary (Peter) Kain of VA and Ann Massard of MA; and sisters-in-law, Nancye Connor of MA and Helena Nickerson of CT.
The family would like to express its' deep gratitude to the staff of Saratoga Hospital for their compassionate care of Mr. Connor.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday December 1, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga Springs, 179 Lawrence St. Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 in memory of Mr. Connor.
