Albany – Robert E. Bink, 89, passed away Sunday September 13, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospital.
Robert was born in Albany, the son of the late Mary "Mae" (Stevenson) Bink Loomis and George Bink. He served in the US Army during WW II, was a steamfitter with the Local #7, having worked on the Glenmont power station and was the owner and operator of Certified Mobil Home Service. Later in life, Robert was the proprietor of Dynamite Creations Screen Printing. As a young man, he enjoyed speed skating, barrel jumping and was an avid water skier. Robert also liked gardening, fishing, camping and listening to organ music.
Robert is survived by his two sons, Bruce O. Bink and Brian E. Bink, both of Albany. He was the grandfather to Stephen, Bobby, Michael, Alicia, James and Jennifer Matrino and brother to Elizabeth Morowski. He was predeceased by his wife Gladys and their son Russell and his sister Delores Young.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.).
