Colonie- Robert F. Koehler, Sr., 76, died peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2006, at St. Peter's Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Schenevus, NY he was the son of the late Laura and Theodore Koehler. Robert was a graduate of Long Beach High School and went on to receive his Associates Degree from Long Beach City College. Robert served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Robert was employed as a Senior Investigator for Equifax for 30 years. He was a member of the Joseph E. Zaloga American Legion Post #1520. Robert is predeceased by his son Keith R. Koehler.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Jean DeMizio Koehler of Colonie, his daughter Kathleen Koehler Dominick and her husband Mark of Latham, his three sons, Frank M. Koehler of Colonie, Stephen P. Koehler and his fiancée Diane Damiano of Albany and Robert F. Koehler, Jr. of Colonie, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Mary Ellen Koehler of New Hampshire, his two brothers, Alfred Koehler and his wife Janet of Delmar and Theodore Koehler of New Hampshire and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Historic St. Mary's on Capitol Hill where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 or to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Robert F. Koehler, Sr.
