Stuyvesant- On May 1, 2024, Robert G. Ferraino (74) of Stuyvesant, NY, a beacon of light born on March 16, 1950, in Searingtown, NY, passed away after a brief illness. His life's journey commenced amidst the landscapes of Long Island, NY bookended by the enchantment of the Adirondack mountains. He shared his love for boating, fishing, and the freshness of hand-pumped water, and wild raspberries every summer with his children who awoke on camp mornings to the sound of percolating coffee and the smell of pancakes. Those are some of our fondest memories with him.
He later settled in the Helderberg mountains where he raised his family. With a distinguished BS from the NYS Institute of Technology, he ventured into the realm of clinical research, leaving an indelible mark on the field, most recently as a consultant for several pharmaceutical companies around the world.
His creativity and photographic memory were what truly distinguished him. Whether mastering the intricacies of engines or fashioning homes from dreams and blueprints, Bob's hands were instruments of marvel, frequently with both his son and daughter by his side. Alongside his beloved wife Barbara, who preceded him, he traveled the highways of the nation.
He equally cherished his beloved dogs and cats, most recently his Chessie named Sarge. Robert leaves behind a legacy of tireless fortitude and drive, along with his daughter, Nicole M. Clagett, his son, Robert M. Ferraino (Donna), and his cherished grandchildren, Michelle, Patrick, Michael, and Julia.
Beyond his professional achievements, Robert's heart beat with a passion for community, evident in his involvement with the Kiwanis club, coaching little league baseball, bowling, and playing softball.
The family will be remembering him privately, and there will be no service. We'll miss Bob's determination and never-give-up attitude. His legacy lives on in those he loved and the lives he touched.
