Albany, NY – Robert G. Arras, 71, passed away Tuesday October 27, 2009 at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Robert "Bob" was born in Albany the son of the late Albert and Gertrude (Brennan) Arras and was a lifelong resident. At seventeen, Bob joined the US Navy and served for four years. He drove a CDTA bus for 27 years, retiring in the late nineties and was a member of the Elks for over forty years. Bob was an avid NY Yankee and Giant fan and loved traveling, especially to Las Vegas with his beloved wife of forty years, Patricia Arras.
In addition to his wife, Patricia, Bob is survived by his daughter Dawn Arras and son Les Arras, his grandchildren: Jason, Monica, Nicholas, Joshua and Ryan, great-grandson Jaycob, sister-in-law Pat Arras and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Joyce Cosgrave and brother Ronald Arras.
The funeral service will be held Friday 8:15am from New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.) then to St. Ambrose Church, Latham, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00am. Calling hours will be Thursday 4:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden Cemetery.
