Robert H. Meyer, Jr.

Menands- Robert H. Meyer died yesterday at his home in Menands, NY. He was 70. Born July 19, 1936 in Hamburg, New York, Bob graduated from Hamburg High School in 1954. During summers he worked at the local steel mill to pay his way through the University of Buffalo where he earned a bachelors degree in business administration.

In 1958, Bob began his career in banking as a bank examiner in Washington DC. He then moved to New York City to join W.R. Grace & Company. He received an MBA from the City College of New York. In 1970, Bob and his wife Dottie moved to Albany, NY where he joined Mechanics Exchanges Savings Bank (later the Dime Savings Bank). After 24 years with Dime, Bob moved to MacDonald Investments.

An active member of this community for more than 35 years, Bob and his wife Dottie started their family in Center Square Albany and later moved to Loudonville. Bob enjoyed skiing with his two sons, his wife's gourmet cooking, entertaining family and friends, and recounting colorful stories.

He is survived by his wife Dottie of 38 years; his sons G. Stewart Meyer of Seattle, WA and David L. Meyer and wife Jori of New York, NY; his granddaughter Riley Jean Meyer; and his sisters Ann Palormo of Las Cruces, NM, and Janet C. Meyer of Washington, DC.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 11th at 1:00 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 262 State Street in Albany. Memorial contributions may be made to the Andrew L.
