FONDA- Robert W. Hemstreet, 86, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2021 at his home.
He was born on July 14, 1934 son of the late Walter and Kathryn (Brownell) Hemstreet in Perth, NY.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. Bob began his career working on farm equipment and did custom combine work at various local farms. In addition to his farm work he was also employed full time with GE as a plumber steamfitter, he retired after many years of service. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a hardworker and for his love of Allis-Chalmers tractors. For his 80th Birthday he was gifted his very own tractor and he and his wife got to enjoy a road trip to Texas to pick it up. He always looked forward to the Fonda Fair and was a regular attendee for many years.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Julie Hemstreet; son, Randy Hemstreet; granddaughter, Grace Hemstreet; siblings, John Hemstreet (Sally), Joan Hemstreet VanBrocklin (David Connor), Jim Hemstreet (Barbara), MaryLou Hemstreet Kristie (Jerry), Harvey Hemstreet (Donna); close friend, Shirley Quinion Combs and her daughter Quinn Combs and many beloved nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Eleanor Hemstreet Papierniak; nephews, Brendon Kristie and Ronald Papierniak.
Bob's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Snider, Dr. Malanga, Dr. Jan Carstens and the entire staff at The Community Hospice Foundation especially their nurse Amanda.
In following Bob's wishes there will be no services.
