ALBANY - Robert W. Hennessey, 69, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born on July 21, 1947 in Albany - Arbor Hill area and was the son of the late Helen (Hennessey) Herbert and Alfred Herbert. He worked as a security guard for Albany County for over 30 years, working at Albany County Nursing Home, Albany County DSS, and Albany County Correctional Facility. He had over 20 years of volunteer work with the Arbor Hill Little League. He enjoyed camping in the Catskills and spending time with his family - most especially his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Catherine E. (Johnson) Hennessey; his lifelong friend, Mary O'Brien; his children, Helen Hennessey (Lori Dudek), Tammy Hennessey, Bobbie-Jo Edwards (Julie), Elaine Houlihan (Tiffany), and April Hennessey (Ronald Anderson); his niece/caregiver, Wanda Winnie-Evans (Ronald); his dear friends, Al and Ann O'Brien; several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two great granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, Latham Chapel, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189. Calling hours prior from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
