Robert J. Danz

COLONIE – After a long courageous battle with cancer, Robert J. Danz, 52, passed away peacefully on Monday April 22, 2013 with his loving family by his side.
Bob is the proud father of Nicholas of Colonie and Michael of Burnt Hills. Robert was the loving son of the late Ferdinand and Ruth Danz. He is the loving brother of Dennis (Laurie) of Rotterdam, Steven (Deborah) of Latham, Patricia (Peter Bubb) of Rotterdam, Richard (Barbara) of Colonie, Brian of Delmar and Bruce of Schenectady. He is the former husband of Lori Sautter-Danz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Robert retired from the South Colonie School District after 24 years of employment. He enjoyed spending time with his boys and attending their football games and wrestling matches. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, decorating the whole house, inside and out for Christmas and attending Tri-City Valley Cat games.
The family wishes to offer their special thank you to the employees and colleagues of South Colonie School District who so generously donated their sick and vacation time to Bob during his illness.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 11:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Thursday from 3 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 in memory of Robert J. Danz.
