Robert J. Dittmer, Jr.

CLIFTON PARK, NY – Robert J. Dittmer, Jr., 46, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 after a long illness. Born in Albany, he is the beloved son of Robert J. Dittmer, Sr. and Margaret M. Dittmer. He was a Colonie resident for most of his life before moving to Clifton Park. Bob was a graduate of South Colonie Central High School. He worked for Overnight Transportation for eight years and, more recently for Estes Express Lines for thirteen years. He was an avid N.Y. Giants football fan and enjoyed watching Sunday football with his son. He especially loved spending time with his loving family. In addition to his beloved parents Bob is survived by his devoted wife of nearly twenty-five years, Kimberly A. Dittmer. Bob is the cherished father of Domenica J. (Jeffrey Warner) Dittmer Warner, Robert J. Dittmer, III and Lucinda N. Dittmer. He is the loving grandfather of Emily Mae Warner and Jayden P. Mwale. Bob is the loving brother of Janet L. (Joseph) Wickham. Also surviving is Bob's best friend, Leo Hoenig as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services will be Friday at 5:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
