Robert J. Garhartt, Sr.

COLONIE – Robert J. Garhartt, Sr., 74, of Colonie, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at his home. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Earl and Viola Mae Kennedy Garhartt. He worked as a laborer for over 15 years, lastly for Local Union 190 in Albany. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, country and western music and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Mary G. (Russo) Garhartt and many brothers and sisters.
Robert is the devoted father to Bernard Kenneally and his wife Jo Ann, James Kenneally and his wife Mary, Mary Ann Rajczewski and her husband Thomas, Marcia Scott and her husband Charles, John Kenneally and his wife Pam and Robert J. Garhartt Jr. and his wife Kathy. He is the brother of Thomas (Joann) Garhartt. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday morning at 9:30 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Colonie. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.).
