Robert C. Jackson, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.
Robert was the devoted husband of over 67 years to his high school sweetheart, the late Irene Jackson who passed away in 2013.
He was part of "the greatest generation" – born in central New York before the Great Depression and served in WWII in Europe, an ex-POW of Germany.
He and Irene spent their lifetime in the local community. He enjoyed a career of over 30 years with North Colonie school athletics, was active in his church, photography and gardening; a big fan of the Yankees and of UNC basketball.
He is survived by his son Todd, daughter-in-law Cindy and granddaughter Nicole and sister Pat.
He was predeceased by his son Jay (2007)and by his brother John and sister Helen.
In lieu of flowers, Bob would have appreciated memorial contributions to one's own church or youth sports programs, or to First Presbyterian Church, 362 State Street, Albany, NY 12210.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am, on Saturday April 30th at First Presbyterian Church, 362 State St, Albany, NY 12210; Phone:(518) 449-7332.
