GUILDERLAND- Robert Jefferson, 78, passed away on February 10, 2016.
He was born on June 1, 1937 to the late Arthur and Ella May (Harris) Jefferson. On September 6, 1959 he married Theresa Salvagio Jefferson.
Robert served his country honorably during the Korean War in the United States Army.
Robert was a quiet man with a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed hunting and camping. He was a devoted New York Giants Fan. Bob was a kind and wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Theresa; his daughter and her husband Angela and David Mariani; a grandson and best "Buddy", Robert Mariani; granddog, Oscar; sister-in-law, Marge (Jack) Daniels; brothers-in-law, Vincent (MaryLou) Salvagio, Frank (Lois) Salvagio, nieces and nephews, John (Joann) Daniels, Kristine (Mark) Miller, Tara (Brian) Foster, Vinnie (Christina) Salvagio; 5 great-nephews and many cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his 2 brothers, Arthur Jefferson and Albert Jefferson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 4-7 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 607 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12206. Graveside services will follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association
