Robert Jon Butkereit, 57 passed away on July 29, 2014 at his home.
He was born on June 8, 1957 to the late Paul and Elaine Butkereit.
Bandingo Farm Update. Robert, citizen of earth was a loving photographer of nature. He more than anything loved to be outdoors with his dog Sandy at his family home in Cherry Valley. He was an avid bird watcher all his life, his favorite being the humming bird. He was a hiker and was fond of canoeing in the Adirondacks. Robert relished in watching the night sky and music followed him all through his life. He enjoyed all types of music but especially Frank Zappa.
Robert loved life to the fullest extent.
Robert always sought knowledge and loved to learn and to teach those around him, he was a very distinct individual and left a lasting impression with all of the lives he touched. Robert was very proud of his children and of being part of the Butkereit family and loved all of his friends and family very much.
He is predeceased by his siblings, Margaret Butkereit and Paul T. Butkereit.
Robert is survived by his children, Marla (Garrick) Anson, Christopher R. Butkereit and Caitlin Butkereit. He is the proud grandfather of Trent and Hunter Anson, he is the brother of Tommy (Joan), Peggy Butkereit and his oldest friend Roy Fortunato. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Alexandra, Cassie and Jesse.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. A service at 6:00 pm will follow the visitation.
