ALBANY - Robert C "Bob" Kilpatrick, 75, husband of Catherine French Kilpatrick of Colonie, NY, passed into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ after a brief illness on Wednesday, October, 12, 2022, at Albany Medical Center.
Born September 9, 1947, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late George A. and Blanche Leibensperger Kilpatrick.
Bob went to school in Puerto Rico, Washington, DC, and graduated from Balboa High School in Panama and Colorado State University, as well as post graduate studies at SUNY Albany.
During college, he worked for the National Park Service, and after graduation moved to internships with the US National Weather Service in OH, PA and CT before moving to full positions in OH, and finally in Albany, NY, for a total of 43 years. In retirement, he also worked at WIS. Bob was also a business owner with his wife, Catherine, and an active member of Our Savior's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Bob loved his family, friends, nature, hiking, body surfing, photography, flying, trains, music and reading. One of the great thrills of his life was to fulfill a lifelong prayer to go on a mission trip to Uganda in October 2019.
Bob is survived by his wife of 42 1/2 years, Catherine, his daughter Elizabeth (Thomas) Mostachetti of Colonie and beloved "Papa" their 4 children, Keyna, Ariel, Thomas and Samantha, and son, David, of Scotia. He is also survived by his brother George "Skip" Kilpatrick (Elizabeth), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Friends may call on Friday, October 21, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM or 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Our Savior's Church, 63 Mountain View Ave, Albany. A service celebrating his life and service to his Savior Jesus will be held at 11:00 AM the following day at the same location, with interment to follow at Memory Gardens and a luncheon celebrating his life following at the church.
