Robert Kornegay, Jr.

ALBANY - Robert Kornegay, Jr was born May 25, 1947 to his loving parents Robert and Lula Kornegay in Faison North Carolina (Dublin County). He earned his wings and ascended peacefully on Saturday, December 19, 2020 after a long illness.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Carolyn Kornegay, his parents Robert and Lula Kornegay, his brothers John, Edward (Louvenia), Macon (Nellie) Kornegay and his adoring sister Edna Robinson. He was also predeceased by his handsomegrandson Tom-meke Mayweather .

He leaves to cherish one brother, James Kornegay of Albany, NY and one devoted sister who tried to grant all his wishes, Mary (Bristol) King of Griffin ,Ga. He leaves his loving children: Julius Kornegay, Belinda Kornegay, Aknetris Tiana Kornegay and Sonya Hines (and family), all of Albany, NY. He leaves six grandchildren: Ulias Kornegay, Preston Kornegay, Juwuan Barnes, Kemasha Hardy, Jasodd King, Myheaven Johnson, and two great grandchildren U-Haviar Kornegay and baby Jasodd King.

He leaves two special nieces. Brenda Robinson and Jah-Raii Gause . who were dedicated to his care over the many years; His devoted daughter Belinda and two nephews James Kornegay, Jr and Stephon Kornegay who also helped with his care.He leaves close a cousin Ava Courtright. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, loved ones and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 29 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a celebration of life to immediately follow at 12:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Gathering size, within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required, and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Schenectady.
