Robert L. Pettengill

Ballston Lake- Robert L. Pettengill, 85, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at home with his loving family by his side. Robert was born on June 20, 1930 to the late Dr. Warren and Florence (Lovering) Pettengill. He graduated from Albany High School and enlisted with the United States Air Force where he served for four years. He later received a Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical engineering from Boston University. He spent most of his professional career with General Electric as an engineer in the Gas Turbine International Department.

Robert loved working on old cars, vacationing at the ocean, and spending time with his entire family.

Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Claire (Hammerli) Pettengill; his brothers, Warren Jr., Arnold, and Richard.

Robert is survived by his children, Barbara L. Pettengill and Robert W. Pettengill; his brother, Dr. James C. (Dina) Smith; and sisters-in-law, Barbara L. (James Oppedisano) Hammerli and Patricia Pettengill. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 185 Swaggertown Rd., Scotia, NY 12302.
