Robert Larose

Robert LaRose, was called home to the mother he never knew and his Lord and Saviour after a year long struggle with Alzheimer's Dementia early Thursday December 13, 2007.

Born in Cambridge, NY he moved to Albany at a young age and was a lifelong area resident. Robert did many things professionally in his life. In spite of his lack of education, he owned many businesses in the capital region. As a younger man, after serving in the US Army Aircorps, Robert was an Albany Fireman. After only a short while he was injured on the job and took to iron work. He helped to build some of the infrastructure of downtown Albany including 787 and Rockafeller Plaza. Robert was a self taught artist, working in the Dow Art Gallery in Hollywood Florida and was a wonderful singer have performed with Jackie Wilson. During the 1960's he was a Democratic Ward Leader.

Robert was the husband to Catherine Crowley for the past 57 years, father of Robert Simon, Chris (Cindy) LaRose, Lucy (Mark) Lanoue and infant Thomas John LaRose, grandfather of; Robert LaRose, Jessica Coughlin, Megan LaRose, Nicholas LaRose, great-grandfather of Cadence Elizabeth Coughlin.

Funeral service will be Monday at 12:00 pm at the New Comer Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be 10:00 to 12:00 the same day at the funeral home. Interment at Memory's Garden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern NY 85 Watervliet Ave, Albany, NY 12206
